Thank you to our 2012 Team!

I just wanted to take a couple minutes to thank my team for all of their hard work while we served the people of Zambia!  God hand-picked each of you to play a major role while we were there, and it could not have been successful without you!  Because YOU said YES to HIM...we were able to show the love of Christ to so many.  We were able to treat over 400 people.  We were able to pray with several.  We were able to interact with countless!  

Thank you for putting yourself out there in His name!  It was truly a pleasure taking part in this trip with you!  

Now lets get ready for next year!!!  :)

   Well, we are two weeks away and everyone is paid up. PRAISE GOD for providing a way! Most of the medical supplies, medicines and extras for the McBrides are collected and are days away from being packed. Thanks to the generosity of FBC McKinney, we will now be able to pay for our second set of luggage and make sure that everything makes it to Zambia. We've been so blessed by so many people... I can't begin to name them all. Being a first time leader has had it's fair share of stress, but GOD is always in control and our friends and family's support have gotten us through! We can't wait to show the love of Christ while we are there helping with much needed medical care for not only the students of Lifesong, but also some of the people living in the impoverished village. Some of the team members will also be working with Mitzi McBride and the students at Lifesong's school.

   We are so excited to see what God has planned for this trip and this team! I've been blessed with a team that loves people, but most of all, they love CHRIST. Please pray for us as Spiritual warfare has already begun...though it is no match for our God. We will be posting updates and photos on FB (Wi-Fi pending) so stay tuned. Also, please pray for the McBrides and all they are doing. They are an incredible family...but most of all, they are our friends. Thanks again and God bless.

  Well, it's a little over two months before we join the McBrides in Zambia, and the team that originally consisted of one(me) has now grown to a whopping eight.  PRAISE GOD.  We were blessed to send some much needed medical supplies ahead with a team from our church that left for Zambia last week. Along with putting together this trip, the Lord has put my family in a position to collect medical supplies from local hospitals and send them out with other mission teams from other churches.  We feel that the Lord has lead us to start a non-profit to get these supplies to the needy, not only in other countries, but in our very backyard.  I was listening to a sermon on the radio and heard this verse, which became the core of our Mission.
"Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it's in your power to help them."
  Proverbs 3:27 
I am so blessed to be where I am today.  I can't wait to see what God has planned for this trip and this team.  They are an amazing group of people answering Gods call.

We are a little over three months away from the day we leave for our trip to Kitwe, Zambia! It will be the first time the people of this impoverished village have had any type of medical care. By the grace of God four people have answered the call to go and help. 

I want to thank the ones that can't go but have helped financially and/or prayerfully. God has blessed us with so many medical supplies that we had no more room in my garage to store them. CAN I GET AN AMEN!?!?!?!?! And, thanks to the generosity of a great friend, we now have a climate controlled storage unit to house the supplies until they are needed for different missions around the world. 

God is doing amazing things and I ask for prayer for the team as we prepare for this great journey. I also ask that you pray for me. This will be my first time to lead a team. I have had the privilege to follow Dr. Brent Armstrong on past medical mission trips to Uganda and he is one of the best. He is a Godly man and I hope I have the same effect on the team as he did on me. This trip will change our lives for the better and there is still plenty of room left. Do you feel like you should be going with us?

   On my last medical mission trip in 2010, God changed my heart and my families life forever. Four short months after retuning home from Uganda, Courtney and I left our beautiful daughter with Courtneys parents and went back to Africa. This time it was a different type of mission. It was to bring our son, Owen Mukisa Willis, home where he belonged. Where God had always intended him to be. He has been such a blessing to our family. It's not by chance that Mukisa in "Luganda" means "blessings". Over the past two years we have had our share of ups and downs but we are so blessed to have him in our lives. He is growing stronger everyday.  He is such a sweetheart. He gets that from Courtney. On a personal note. My wife is the strongest woman I know. God knew that she could handle what was about to happen when we came home with a two year old with a troubled past and a daughter that was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis just weeks before we left to get Owen. Through everything she has NEVER lost her faith in God.  I am so blessed to have her as my wife, mother of my kids and my best friend.  I have no idea what God has planned for me or this team during our upcoming medical trip to Lifesong Primary School in Kitwe Zambia, but I know it will be great.

Just wanted to share a praise.  We were just given permission from HCA Hospital to come to their warehouse and take all their extra medical supplies!
This past Tuesday,  Brent Armstrong and I went to the warehouse and found 12 fully stocked pallets of supplies.  We had no idea it would be so much.  We found everything from new breast pumps still in the boxes to a full case of thermometers. We also found hundreds of sutures for wound repair.  A few days later I received an email from Shane McBride in Zambia asking for more sutures.  God has blessed us so much with these resources! They will be taken to both Uganda and Zambia to help heal His people.  Most importantly, we will use this blessing to spread His Gospel.
